Easy Grammar Ultimate Grade 8 Teacher's Guide The Easy Grammar Ultimate series is explicitly designed to introduce and teach essential grammar concepts to older students, regardless of their previous grammar background. Word Roots Level 2

Math-U-See Algebra 1 is typically a good fit for a student entering eighth grade; to find the Math-U-See level that best fits your child you can try the placement test here. Algebra 1 Math-U-See Algebra 1 teaches all basic algebra concepts. These include basic properties, solving equations (including simultaneous equations), coin problems, exponents and square roots, scientific notation, unit multipliers, and metric conversions. Graphing lines are taught in detail, and graphing conic sections are introduced. Operations with polynomials are demonstrated with place-value blocks for conceptual understanding before being taught conventionally. Used from the Primer through Algebra 1 levels, the manipulatives build each concept from place value through polynomials through Integer Blocks, Fraction Overlays, and Algebra/Decimal Inserts. Math-U-See does require a fair amount of parental involvement, especially in the younger grades. They have bent over backwards to make the lesson planning as painless as possible. But to get the most out of Math-U-See, parents should be prepared to plan and not start the lessons unprepared. Math-U-See's teacher guide and supplemental DVD will teach you, the parent, more than just how to solve a math problem. They also show why the problem is solved in this manner and when to apply the concept. Each lesson is demonstrated on the DVDs with such kind-hearted enthusiasm. I now understand why children line up at homeschool conferences to give the instructor, Steve Demme, a hug. DVDs can be played on a DVD player or computer; however, Windows 10 users will need to download a separate video player. Math-U-See is laid out with step-by-step procedures for introducing, practicing, mastering, and reviewing concepts. How do you know when your child has 'mastered' a math concept? Not just when he gets the answers right but when he can teach the concept back to you, especially if he can do so with a word problem. Math-U-See will show you how. So, if you want to give your child a rock-solid mathematical foundation, if your child is shaky on the basics, or just looking for a no-frills, common-sense program, you will be pleased with Math-U-See. Note: Math-U-See manipulative comes in a standard cardboard box with a lightweight plastic tray. These do not hold up well, either in shipment or daily life, so we'd suggest considering a different long-term storage option, such as a bin or bag. Algebra 1
Math-U-See Algebra 1 teaches all basic algebra concepts. These include basic properties, solving equations (including simultaneous equations), coin problems, exponents and square roots, scientific notation, unit multipliers, and metric conversions. Graphing lines are taught in detail, and graphing conic sections are introduced. Operations with polynomials are demonstrated with place-value blocks for conceptual understanding before being taught conventionally.

The Math-U-See Manipulatives are more than a supplement. They are an integral part of the curriculum. Used from the Primer through Algebra 1 levels, the manipulatives build each concept from place value through polynomials through Integer Blocks, Fraction Overlays, and Algebra/Decimal Inserts.
 
Math-U-See does require a fair amount of parental involvement, especially in the younger grades. They have bent over backwards to make the lesson planning as painless as possible. But to get the most out of Math-U-See, parents should be prepared to plan and not start the lessons unprepared. 
 
Math-U-See's teacher guide and supplemental DVD will teach you, the parent, more than just how to solve a math problem. They also show why the problem is solved in this manner and when to apply the concept. 
 
Each lesson is demonstrated on the DVDs with such kind-hearted enthusiasm. I now understand why children line up at homeschool conferences to give the instructor, Steve Demme, a hug. DVDs can be played on a DVD player or computer; however, Windows 10 users will need to download a separate video player.

Asteroid Escape
A Sci-Fi equivalent of a car chase is that of a flight between asteroids, which is the premise that Asteroid Escape was designed. While there are only 8 sliding puzzle pieces in Asteroid Escape, the spaceship's progress is seriously limited because of its size and the size of some of the asteroids. One of the more complicated challenges requires more than 100 moves, so Asteroid Escape is not for the faint of heart.
 
The object of Asteroid Escape is to slide the puzzle pieces around until you can slide the spaceship off the game board. If you get stumped, the shortest solution is shown at the end of the challenge booklet.

Introduction to Aviation with Av-STEM Your student’s education can now take flight with Introduction to Aviation. This online aviation course makes at-home aviation training possible. Upon completing this course, your child will understand the aerodynamics of flight, how to read aviation charts, how navigation works, and so much more. Many fun hands-on applications clarify what could otherwise be a complicated subject matter. To boost your child’s retention, many of these projects are repeated through various scenarios. Over the next ten years, the FAA forecasts a shortage of pilots, mechanics, and other technical support personnel in the aviation industry. So Introduction to Aviation also includes about 30 aviation career pathway interviews. But even if your child is disinterested in pursuing the field of aviation, the knowledge he acquires through Introduction to Aviation can be transferred to a multitude of other careers. The Introduction to Aviation Course provides between 110 and 120 hours of learning for an approximately 3/4 credit as an aeronautical science elective. Included is online course access for a single student for as long as he needs it. He will also receive all necessary supplies except for an inexpensive joystick*, which can be easily bought locally. System Requirements: The course itself is online, so the only requirements are really a browser and access to the internet. One of the components, however, is the X-Plane 10 Flight Simulator. That is a program that you download for use in the course and it does have system requirements. X-Plane 10 Simulator System Requirements: Given X-Plane’s incredible capabilities and accuracy, it is not possible to run a current release of X‑Plane on an exceptionally old computer. A good rule of thumb is that any machine built in the last 18 to 24 months will probably be able to run the simulator acceptably. Opening this will display the processor, its speed, and the amount of RAM installed. Introduction to Aviation with Av-STEM
Your student’s education can now take flight with Introduction to Aviation. This online aviation course makes at-home aviation training possible. Upon completing this course, your child will understand the aerodynamics of flight, how to read aviation charts, how navigation works, and so much more. 
 
Many fun hands-on applications clarify what could otherwise be a complicated subject matter. To boost your child’s retention, many of these projects are repeated through various scenarios. 
 
Over the next ten years, the FAA forecasts a shortage of pilots, mechanics, and other technical support personnel in the aviation industry. So Introduction to Aviation also includes about 30 aviation career pathway interviews. But even if your child is disinterested in pursuing the field of aviation, the knowledge he acquires through Introduction to Aviation can be transferred to a multitude of other careers. 
 
The Introduction to Aviation Course provides between 110 and 120 hours of learning for an approximately 3/4 credit as an aeronautical science elective. Included is online course access for a single student for as long as he needs it. He will also receive all necessary supplies except for an inexpensive joystick*, which can be easily bought locally. Because supplies are shipped directly from the publisher, they will use the same method (USPS Priority Mail) which may differ from the method you choose for your Timberdoodle order.
 System Requirements: The course itself is online, so the only requirements are really a browser and access to the internet. One of the components, however, is the X-Plane 10 Flight Simulator. That is a program that you download for use in the course and it does have system requirements. X-Plane 10 Simulator System Requirements: Given X-Plane’s incredible capabilities and accuracy, it is not possible to run a current release of X‑Plane on an exceptionally old computer. A good rule of thumb is that any machine built in the last 18 to 24 months will probably be able to run the simulator acceptably. Computers up to about 36 months old may be fine if they were top-of-the-line machines when manufactured. Even if they weren’t, X‑Plane may still be able to run, albeit with its rendering options turned down. X-Plane 10 requires a computer with at least the following specifications: 
<li>Dual Core, 2.5 GHz or faster</li>
<li>4 GB of RAM</li>
<li>A video card with at least 1 GB of VRAM</li>
<li>10 GB of hard drive space</li>
 However, for the best experience, we recommend the following:
