Scratch 3.0 Coding Cards
Our price: $23.50
Whenever I previewed a Scratch coding book my eyes would blur and my mind would be planning dinner. Not so with Scratch Coding Cards, primarily because tasks are presented in a bite-size portions. The front of each card shows an activity, for example, animating a character or adding your voice. The back of the card shows the Scratch blocks used and how to put them together.
With the Scratch Coding Cards, your child will create interactive games, stories, music, and animations. What a fun, motivating way to learn sequencing, conditionals, variables, and other coding concepts. If your family is new to Scratch coding, you will be pleased to know that an introductory booklet shows the basics of using this drag and drop language.

”My kids are always asking to do more of the cards, which means they are a hit in our house. They've been a great introductory computer programming curriculum for my kids.”Watch the Video Review
I am not computer savvy, but my husband is and I thought this would be a great way to let my husband help with schooling. Any computer time my son and husband get together is bonding time for we are not a big electronic family. They both seemed to like it a lot. My son's only complaint was dad was taking over. So that says something right there.
Computer programming is absolutely imperative for future job success in this country. I am so glad she is starting to learn coding so young. It is not intuitive, as others have said, and it does require some level of computer skill. That being said, there are instructional videos. It is a challenge for our daughter, but worth it.
Scratch Coding Cards were purchased by us as a fun school activity for my husband to do with my third grader. I couldn't have pulled them off alone, but, I'm not very tech savvy. I'm glad there are things like this on the market to give to someone who is! She gets time with her Dad and exposure to technological studies. These are a fun activity to do, and in the technology age, invaluable skills to have!
Cute program, pretty difficult for my student who was not so computer savy. We will incorporate it again this year, as coding is a good practical skill.
My daughter was the most excited about the Scratch Coding Cards! However, the program doesn't seem too intuitive, and the instructions don't tell you where to find certain things. So be sure to watch every instruction video.
