Cracking the SAT Is a must have! It teaches that you don't need to be extremely smart and make all A's in order to pass the SAT. It shows how the test writers try to trick you into choosing the wrong answers that seem right. The SAT book explains what tactics they use and how you can prevent from falling into their trap. I would really recommend it to anyone who wants to practice, study, or score higher on the SAT.
I purchased this book while preparing to teach an English co-op class to high school students. The book contained more valuable instruction than I imagined. (Over 700 pages is a lot of information!) The first few chapters covering basic principles for being a successful test-taker make the book well worth its price. The rest of the book is a wealth of information including frequently-used SAT vocabulary words and full-length practice tests. I really like the detailed explanations of the practice questions. In my opinion, this book is more valuable than taking the SAT again. . . and again. . . and again!
