In many ways we are the same. In small, yet fascinating ways we are different. In This Is How We Do It: One Day in the Lives of Seven Kids from Around the World, your kindergartner gets a snapshot of what a normal day looks like for seven kids from Italy, Japan, Iran, India, Peru, Uganda, and Russia. From the homes they live in and the schools they attend to the games they play, This Is How We Do It will give your child a peek into the traditions that may differ and the patterns that remain the same.

Our family enjoys this book. We like some others have mentioned like to read this with a map handy.
Nice read-aloud, simple text and we like the illustrations. Great for exposing the child to cultural appropriation, different people doing different activities in different places.
The illustrations in this book are beautiful. I love the idea of learning about the lives of real children all over the world and the fact that, in the end, we all look up at the same night sky. I use this with our Usborne Big Picture Atlas so we can see where each child lives and learn more fun facts about their countries.
The book is very good and shows a little peek into kids lives around the world. I wish there was easy to find material online similar to the book to show videos or games or recipes from other countries. I've been searching it out my own because the book really caught my son's interest in other cultures.
