It's hard to go wrong with an Usborne book, but the "things to spot" books are especially fun for kids of almost any age. Not only is it great for counting practice, but it's good for attentiveness at any age.
We ordered this book 2 years ago for my then 3 year old son and he loved looking at the colorful pictures and attempting to find all the creatures. Fast forward to now, and it is still one of our favorite books! I love that it integrates math/counting alongside the fun colorful animals... there is a lot that little ones can learn while enjoying this book! My son's favorite page, without question, was and still is the pages with the tractors!
We enjoy working through this book. It has many different scenarios, lots of variety of objects to find and definitely interesting! We still haven't seen all of it because there is so much to look at. It's one of our absolute favorite search and find books. Highly recommended and a great price!
This book is great, but maybe a little too hard at times for this age group. There are only 1-2 pictures where I feel it is just a little too hard, but they are very frustrating for my daughter. Other than that it has been a great tool in counting specific objects, looking for things even if they are in a different position than the example picture, and I have even taken it as far as learning about things in the different scenes. Like I said just a couple of scenes that are really frustrating for the both of us, but then again maybe we just need a little more practice!!!
My son enjoys finding things in busy pictures. This book is great for restaurants and car rides. It has some new vocabulary words in it and counting higher than ten, so it's been a great opportunity for us to practice identifying new things and extending our pointing and counting.
