Opposing sheep herds are battling to secure the most pastureland in a strategy game that your whole family will love. Battle Sheep's tactical gameplay requires a player to think through his moves at least two steps ahead, or the open pasture will quickly become filled with rival sheep, and he will be fenced out. Using both offensive and defensive moves, the player who captures the most pasture space wins the game.
Easy to learn and easy to play without being easy to win. Battle Sheep's ever-changing pasture boards allow for different and unique game playing areas each time. Your students can play several games in less than an hour, providing them multiple opportunities to apply new strategies from their previous game. A very durable game with high-quality components, Battle Sheep's 16 pasture boards are made of laminated card stock. The 64 sheep tokens are made of thick plastic.
Each player takes 16 sheep tokens of the same color and stacks them into one sheep stack.
Each player takes 4 pasture boards. Note: If there are fewer than 4 players, you will not use all the pasture boards included in the game box.
Players take turns arranging their pasture boards together to create the playing field.
All boards should be connected by at least one side.
Starting with the youngest player and moving clockwise, each player places their starting sheep stack on one of the pastures on the outside perimeter of the playing field. Each player should start on their own pasture board to spread the stacks.
The Object of the Game:
Move your sheep to claim the biggest portion of the playing field by blocking your opponents from moving in!
The youngest player starts, then play moves clockwise.
On your turn, you must:
Split one of your sheep stacks into two stacks (you choose how many sheep go into each stack, but both stacks must contain at least one sheep).
Leave your original stack where it is. Then move your entire new stack as far as it can go in a straight line until you either reach another sheep stack, or you cannot go any farther.
End of the Game:
When all the players can no longer move any sheep, the player who occupies the most pastures wins!

”My grandkids love playing Battle Sheep, to be sure, but they’d be hard-pressed to outmatch my own children’s enthusiasm for the game — or my own! We’ve played every single day since the package arrived on our front porch.”
"Strategy games can be a great homeschool resource, teaching children to think ahead and use trial and error to problem solve. Battle Sheep contains an added math component, as counting is crucial to token placement."
