Exploring the Bible
When our children were young, Bible devotionals for their age group were nearly non-existent. Those that were available were either too overwhelming or too watered down, so we were forced to cobble together a program that satisfied our desire that our kids would develop the habit of daily Bible reading. If only we’d had access to Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan in those days!
Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids has made it easy for today’s involved parent. The author, David Murray’s experience with his own children helped him write a book that could be used daily, incorporating the optimum amount of verses each day. Substantive but not overwhelming, Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids picks out the central portions throughout the Bible that give children an overall view of the whole Bible and the plan of redemption. This 365-day plan will guide your children through key passages from Genesis to Revelation.
Each week starts with a short overview, a place to note any prayer requests, and a space to write out that week’s memory verse. Each day your child will read a kid-sized portion of scripture and then either answer a question or write out a verse. Sundays are set aside for reinforcing the big picture, and to jot down the sermon text, title, and a few notes. Your child won’t read every verse in the Bible, but he will hit all the highlights and gain an all-round exposure to the big picture, how the different books relate to one another and to our lives. Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids is an unmatched tool for leading your children into that holy habit of being in God's Word each day.

“There is so much I could say to commend Exploring the Bible, but any praise would pale in comparison to this, the ultimate parental endorsement: I gave all three of my children Exploring the Bible as their very first experience of personal devotions. All three used it, all three enjoyed it, and all three benefited tremendously from using it. I wholeheartedly recommend it for your children, too.”

“This Bible reading plan has it all—engaging graphics, kid-sized reading assignments, space for reflection, and helpful commentary. What an exciting endeavor—to help children read (for themselves!) an overview of the Bible in a year! I can’t wait to give away copies of Exploring the Bible to the kids in my life.”

“Too many times children are told about the Bible without ever being encouraged to read the text themselves. In his book Exploring the Bible, David Murray has given a gift to disciple-making parents everywhere. This resource will help children and families dig into the riches of the Bible while subtly teaching the necessity of daily reading and learning with God’s people. I can see individual children using it or whole families sharing their discoveries around the dinner table. As you seek to raise disciples who are hungry for and knowledgeable of the Word, this resource will be invaluable.”
