The Prime Suspect is always the person in the center of the 3×3 grid. Choose a case, study the clues, and begin deducing! By comparing details about appearance and location—such as above, below, beside, or between other suspects—you narrow the possibilities until you can identify who belongs in the center.

Not necessarily! Your goal is to identify the Prime Suspect, not always to determine the exact position of every character. Some cases can be solved before the entire grid is complete, which adds another layer of discovery: finding out how much information you actually need.

Prime Suspect focuses on the logic puzzle itself rather than a scripted crime story. However, imaginative players may find themselves inventing their own stories about the colorful cast of suspects along the way!

Each case is designed so that the clues lead to one correct Prime Suspect in the center of the grid. In some puzzles, however, the positions of the other suspects may vary. Two players who correctly solve the same case will always identify the same Prime Suspect, even if some of the remaining suspects end up in different positions.

Decided to test out one puzzle in each level to see if it was a good level of difficulty for my son. Unfortunately, the first card in the toughest level seems unsolvable. It eliminates both possible suspects in one of the clues. No one matches the clue. I think the rule being broken is that under or above someone needs to be adjacent. If you assume its not adjacent, the puzzle seemed solvable. I even ran it through AI to see if I missed something and it said there was an error and not solvable. So I do think there is an issue with that one card. However, if one of four puzzles that I tried was not solvable, then how many others have errors? I won't know until we do all of them. I also don't like that the answer key is just the name of the guilty suspect - to truly learn how to work through and solve the problems for yourself, you really need an image of the 3x3 final layout and a step by step explanation how how you reached that. In general, this is a logic game where you determine placement in a 3x3 grid using clues like Scott was next to someone wearing a green shirt. So you are not really solving any crimes here - there is no backstory with each puzzle and no way to eliminate suspects other than their mere placement within the grid. So its just a logical deduction to determine placement game and guilty suspects are the center of the 3x3 grid. So that was kinda a let down. I would have liked to determine who lied about how many fish they caught or how big their fish was or someone who fished without a fishing license or who forgot to pour water on their fire before they went to bed, etc... just some backstory to make it more interesting than just placing cards. Over time, just placing cards can get a bit dull even with a camping theme if the theme is only background and not story.

Love the game, just wish the prime suspect had a crime, for instance: who ate all the marshmallows?
