Spelling You See vs All About Spelling
We've been asked why we use Spelling You See in our curriculum kits instead of All About Spelling.
We actually like both programs and offer All About Spelling as an option if you'd prefer. However, we default to Spelling You See in our kits.
One of the biggest reasons for that is that Spelling You See is about the easiest spelling program to teach. You simply open the books, work with your student for 10 minutes, and you're done for the day.
We also love the chunking by color technique (Circle all "Bossy R" Chunks in purple: ar er ir or ur) as it tends to engage various learning styles in a way that sticks. That said, no program is perfect for everyone.
We have some customers who were thrilled to swap to All About Spelling as they have found that it works better for their particular students.
If you have a child who thrives on spelling rules and who is most comfortable understanding the reasoning behind each word’s spelling, he will adore All About Spelling because, in each spelling lesson, a single new rule or concept is taught. It will require more work on your part, but if it does the trick for your student you're going to find it well worth the time!
