Little Annie's ART Book of Etiquette & Good Manners
Uncertain if your child needs some improvement in his social graces? Here is a clue: if your child has ever said to a hostess that the meal looks wonderful, but tastes disgusting, as our precious Pearl did at 3, then some additional effort on your part may be necessary! There are many colorful storybooks that try to teach manners with story or verse, but Little Annie's Art Book of Etiquette & Good Manners utilizes our favorite method: hands-on.

Employing a delightful text, it teaches social graces using generous amounts of Scripture along with simple art assignments. Lessons on dinner etiquette, being a good listener, writing a thank you note, discerning what quality time is and much more are all reinforced with appealing and easy art lessons. I cannot imagine a more memorable or more agreeable way to teach a young child to forsake his own natural desires and look to the needs of others. Ninety pages, recommended by the author for ages 4 - 7, but I think that even an 8- to 10-year-old would enjoy the assignments and remember the lessons.

Lessons may be done directly in the text or copied for in-home use.

Recommended materials: A set of crayons or colored pencils and a large drawing pencil.
  • Sketch book and cut and paste sections included in the back of the text.
  • 5 Marker Cards

My kids and I enjoyed this book so much! It was so fun and a great way to spend time together and learn social graces.

    Little Annie's ART Book

I like this book but feel that for us it is too much to cover in one year. I will probably break it up between both kindergarten and 1st grade. There is a lot of info on each page and sometimes feels busy and overwhelming but the topics are great and I love the verses that accompany the lessons.

    Little Annie's ART Book

My 6-year old daughter loves this. It is the first thing she asks to do when we start our school day. I like the Bible verses presented to compliment the etiquette lessons, as well as the little art projects like the complementing color wheel.

    Wonderful Book!

Oh this book is just darling! My 5 year old girl really loves the activities and I love the good manners Miss Annie teaches!

    A Spoonful of Sugar

Just to quote Mary Poppins 'A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.' This is a cute book to encourage life lessons on manners. How I wish as a mom my kids had more manners! So I bought this book. We do one page a day with my 6 year old first grader and really there has honestly been a powerful change to his attitude and his etiquette. It's not one of the three R's but it helps with mom's sanity in raising three boys. My two younger boys will go through it when they get to first grade as well.
