(Free Ground Shipping on your entire order when you purchase 2019 First-Grade Curriculum Kit)
This year you will love helping your child become a competent reader, budding mathematician, and a thinking, eager learner. He will study science through the days of creation, learn about ancient times, and build his first robot. With creative art, hands-on logic, and a construction program that develops visual perception and creative thinking, this year will be a year packed with happy memories for both of you!
We asked parents who used our First-Grade Kit how long their student spent on "school," and they estimated that they spent 1-4 hours a day on their kit. You’ll be able to plan yours to work best for you with your access to the online Timberdoodle Scheduler, included with your kit. Make sure you allow yourself and your child some time to find your own rhythm!

My husband found this curriculum. We are new to homeschooling and were overwhelmed by all the options for curriculum I liked the books that were in this kit so we decided to try it and I was even more pleased when we received it! It came with lots of details to help me set up a good schedule and feel like my daughter was accomplishing the information required and also learning the material. This gives you the option to dive as deep as you want or just complete the basics required. My daughter has been thriving and enjoying it as well. She even asks to do school work on the weekends!
As a new homeschool mother being able to order on kit and get everything was great! I have loved everything that we received in our first grade kit. We love having the audiobooks of the story of the world. We listen to these on the way to the store and love getting our history in this way! We love the easy of using Spelling U See and Math U See. Our two favorite extras are the Mad Matter and Mini-Luks.
I just can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this curriculum kit. It took the stress out of planning for us. We did a kit for both K/1st grade since we were unsure how things would go being new to homeschooling. We used the All About Reading and it delivered. I was anxious at first but it built on each lesson making it flow well. Math U See was also a big hit. Spelling U See was also a great learning tool and worked well for us. Critical and Creative was engaging but difficult at times to try to string together the answers. Smart Cookies and MiniLuk were an absolute must. I found smart cookies engaging and challenging for even myself and was amazed at how my six year old was able to be so confident with them. Once again Timberdoodle knocked it out of the park with this kit.
There were so many fun activities to keep my boy engaged in the curriculum.
I customized the elite kit to make it just right for my son, and it has been a great fit for us. My son says his favorite thing is Mad Mattr (he plays with it on a big cookie sheet while we listen to Story of Our World). Math U See makes math a breeze but still gets the job done. My son hasn't loved Spelling You See, but I can see his handwriting slowly improving! The two items I would think about removing from the kit if I didn't have the budget are miniLUK and Critical and Creative. Also, Science In the Beginning is okay, but I always feel overwhelmed by science curriculums requiring labs (I wish the kits included a full subscription to Mystery Science instead). I've enjoyed the ideas in the handbook and my son has especially liked working through the Plus Plus mini suggestions.
