The favorite characters that you enjoyed as a child are back again to teach your PreK student all about science. The stars of this reference book, the Berenstain Bears, have brought their friend, Professor Actual Factual, the foremost bear scientist of his time, to give your child scientific knowledge about the world they live in.
Three Books in One
The Berenstain Bears Big Book of Science and Nature is a compilation of three books. The Berenstain Bears' Almanac is all about holiday celebrations, weather, and the seasons. The Berenstain Bears' Nature Guide takes a leisurely stroll through land and water for facts of the plant and animal kingdoms. The Berenstain Bears' Science Fair presents a variety of machines and how they work with simple experiments to make and do.
Easy to Read, Easy to Understand
Every page in the The Berenstain Bears Big Book of Science and Nature is filled with full-color illustrations or diagrams, and the rhyming text offers your child factual but light-hearted information. If your family is as conservative as ours you may find yourself editing the occasional references to evolution or the elevation of nature over God, but those instances are rare and should not dissuade you from enjoying this 190 page, oversized book with its lively cartoon illustrations and funny characters.

I’ve always enjoyed the Berenstain bears. My daughter likes the nature part, but does complain that the pages have too many words. The pictures aren’t as engaging and bright at the usborne books.
Really, who doesn't love The Berenstain Bears? This book is awesome. So cute...tons of fun! Lots of great information. And rhyming!
We love the Berenstein bears so when I saw this I was so excited! Great addition to our nature/science exploration and very engaging for my children of different ages (pre-k to 3rd greade). Great book to pick up and read a bit at a time. great find, very engaging!
I love the Bernstein Bears so I was really excited for this. But I found it to be too wordy to keep my 4 year olds attention, even though we already enjoy so many Bernstein Bear books at bedtime. Getting though it was more of a chore than I expected. It would also be a good idea to begin this book in the actual season as the book. We didn't do this and it made it confusing.
The Bernstein Bears have been a staple in my household and my childhood, and now we get to use them with our kids schooling. My son loves the Bernstein Bear book series so this was automatically a hit for us!
