Geoboards teach recognition of geometric shapes, which is a pre-reading and pre-writing skill, as well as improve hand-eye coordination, develop the pincer grip and enhance the muscle control necessary for any pencil work. Guidecraft’s Geoboards do all that and more. The 20 pattern cards that slide easily onto the pegs introduce your preschooler to color and pattern recognition. His dexterity will improve as he attaches the colorful rubber bands, while both following patterns and creating his own designs. The hands-on nature of this math manipulative, and the coordinated effort to place the rubber bands will increase your child's ability to concentrate. Each double-sided Geoboard features a pegged circle on one side and a square grid on the other side, and has rubberized corners for enhanced durability, stability, and sound deadening. Guidecraft Geoboards come with four two-sided boards, four sets of multi-colored rubber bands, and 20 pattern cards featuring unique geometric images.
Initially, we encourage you to let your child have adequate time to explore the Geoboard, practicing adding and removing the rubber bands. Remember, Geoboards can also be used imaginatively, so encourage your preschooler to make a house, a spoon, or a rocket with his rubber bands.
A Geoboard is more than a math manipulative used to support early geometric and measurement concepts in a concrete method. Older children can use the circle side of the Geoboard to practice their analog clock skills. Make it easy by using two different colored bands for the big and small hands.
In addition, our PreK Handbook includes exclusive examples of how to make letters and numbers with the Geoboards and rubber bands.

We use these once a week and our kids love creating on them!
These boards are so well made. The silicone grips are great so they do not slide around. 4 boards are included so both of my kids can play at the same time. I love setting this out in the morning for the kids to play calmly while I have my coffee. We will keep these around for a long time since my 7 year old likes them just as much as my 3 year old!
I bought these geoboards for a fun addition to our school activities. All three of my kids (ages 3, 6, and 8) enjoy them. They like to use the picture cards, as well as make their own intricate designs. I think they are great for fine motor development and creative thinking.
We enjoy these. So many to choose from it keeps us busy. I will say cards and rubber bands are everywhere but she has fun. So do I.
My 5 yr old with ADHD dislikes this product. She finds it too challenging and boring. However, I like it for her because it’s strengthening her fine motor skills and also teaching her that we don’t always enjoy the things that we have to do in order to learn.
