This book has so much more to it than you think. We opened it thinking that it was just a simple searching book, but it isn't. They learn all sorts of things, like action words, colors, descriptive words, and location words. The best part is they are just playing and don't even realize what they are learning. They have three of these books and we bought them all!
My 2 year old daughter just loves this "Very First Book of Things to Spot" series, and this "Out and About" addition is cute. They work, quite simply - she's learned a lot of words from them and brings them to me for reading time pretty much daily. Twelve bucks isn't bad for a hardcover book that gets used that often. She really does point out things when we're outside that she learned in the book - now she has a name for them. This one is definitely a winner in our household, and I'd say it could be in yours too.
We enjoy this book as part of our homeschool curriculum. It has been both helpful in teaching our child how to answer specific seek and find questions and open a line of discussion about other items and activities shown through out the pages.
