Discover a Wide Variety of Educational Series
Welcome to Timberdoodle's Evan Moor collection! Since 1979, Evan-Moor Educational Publishers has provided teachers and home school families with practical, creative, and engaging PreK-6+ educational materials. We are delighted to carry the Daily Traits and Daily Geography Series.
Daily 6-Trait Writing
Help your child develop writing skills using daily lessons that fit into every language arts program. Are you familiar with trait writing? Trait-based writing is an impressive method educators have developed to determine if a child's writing is skilled or not. The six traits or characteristics that shape quality writing are content; organization; word choice; sentence fluency; voice; and conventions, which include grammar, spelling, and mechanics. It may sound ominous, but Daily 6-Trait Writing has made it effortless.
With 125 dynamic writing lessons, Daily 6-Trait Writing will provide your child practice and instruction concerning all the essential skills necessary to becoming a competent writer. Research proves that a solid understanding of the six traits of writing improves a child's ability to write successfully and just fifteen minutes or less a day is all it will take. Daily 6-Trait Writing is correlated to state standards for educators, with a dash of fun for our apprentice writers.
Skill Sharpeners Geography Series:
While most children are fascinated with the study of geography, many teaching parents are discovering that without regular exposure, newly acquired information is not retained. If this is the case with your child, or if your state requires a grade-appropriate geography study, then Skill Sharpeners Geography Practice is what you are looking for.
With just fifteen minutes a day your child will become geographically literate. Each of the lessons is correlated to the National Geography Standards and includes a resource page that consists of a statement of the geography standard and skill being addressed, background information and suggestions for introducing the skill, geography vocabulary and definitions, and an answer key for the lesson.
Your child’s page will be made up of two geography questions for each day of the week that progress in difficulty from Monday to Friday and an extra credit challenge question at the end of each week. Short, sweet, and to the point, Skill Sharpeners Geography will assure that your children are geographically astute.
