Walk the Dog
Pet ownership mushroomed during the recent pandemic, causing such a high demand for dogs that some shelters ran out of adoptable dogs! Adapting to a new furry friend can be chaotic even without the added burden of social distancing. With Walk the Dog, your student will recreate likely scenarios and then use logic and deduction skills to keep the dogs from disaster. Three different dog-walkers, each with a leash of a specific length and a stipulation that all leashes need to be taut and cannot cross, is a great place to start. Then add in the rule that no pets can be adjacent, throw in a tree and a couple of cats: you now have a game that develops planning, spatial insight, problem-solving, and concentration skills. There are 80 challenges from easy to expert.
