My daughter who turned 5 in November LOVED doing this workbook & we finished it in 2 months. :) I like this brand of workbooks, too!
We like Skill Sharpeners Geography for the quick, simple lessons and the colorful pages. My daughter has a new understanding of maps and likes to look at all kinds, now. We are almost finished with this book and I am glad this is part of the kit. Cheap and informative.
My ONLY complain about it is: it doesn't have more pages or isn't one of a series. My children are set to finish theirs well before the end of the school year. It's a really neat book, so I wish they could do the geography throughout the entire school year.
This workbook was a great introduction to topics I wouldn't have thought to introduce at such young ages, but which really gives a kid confidence in some practical areas. In my son, this developed a fascination with maps of all kinds and trying to read them, and the activities in the different sections were a lot of fun. Great value!
We worked on this once a week for 1 term when my son was a kindergartener. It was simple, easy material for him to follow and his favorite part were the cut/paste crafts at the end of each lesson. This was probably his favorite subject during the term when we used it. I bought the next workbook for 1st grade but it does leave out the cut/paste crafts and just has more simple cut/paste activities. It's still a great geography curriculum by Evan Moor, highly recommended!
