Timberdoodle's Review
Language Smarts Level D Grade 3
Language Smarts is a complete language arts curriculum that will improve your student’s reading, writing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills. Unlike a traditional workbook, however, Language Smarts also employs both convergent and divergent thinking in its exercises. Perfect for the child who prefers to work independently, Language Smarts pages are brightly-colored and contain enough white space to feel easily doable. About one to two pages a day will have your student completing Language Smarts within a school year.

Language Smarts proves that language arts does not have to be the predictably intensive, tedious, and repetitive activities found in most traditional language arts workbooks. Instead, Language Smarts uses rhymes and riddles, editing challenges, mind-benders, sequencing, and more. The simple, colorful exercises can make this the year your child enjoys language arts.

Easy to follow

My son was able to read and follow the directions with little to no assistance from me. It wasn’t overly complicated. He could finish anywhere from 2-6 pages in a day. A good fit for us.

Language Arts

Just the right amount of learning and lesson on a given page. This is a Language art book full of grammar learning fun!

Good so far!

We are about 2 weeks into this book. I bought it after using our "1st years language" book for a few months. That 1st book got a little too aggressive and not so much 3rd grade level for where we are at, and so I got this as an English/grammar curriculum replacement. It has been great so far. It goes into more detail and practice on each area instead of just 1 lesson-1 page like the other book did. The lessons are comprehensive, but also easy to follow and the lages are very engaging and encouraging for my daughter. It still gives her a challenge, but a great substitute for the other book we started out with.

Good book! My 3rd grader hates writing so it's a struggle to find her a good workbook. After a couple fails, we found this one and really enjoy it. Being so colorful and illustrated makes her more interested in opening it up and the work is presented better than many other drier books. She still doesn't love writing but this book gets us through Language Arts without tears and I'll take that!

So Engaging!

This colorful and engaging book hooks our son's interest daily which is saying something for someone who wanted nothing to with language arts previously! I appreciate the repetition available for practice with just enough variation to continue to be interesting.
