Doodle Washington D.C.
Draw colorful flags in front of the embassies, doodle a sculpture for the National Gallery Sculpture Garden, draw plants for the Botanic Garden, and put lights on the National Christmas Tree. With these prompts and many more, Doodle Washington D.C. will encourage your child to imagine life in the U.S. national capital. Some doodles are specific to Washington D.C., such as doodling a horse for General Grant’s statue, while others are universally fun, like decorating the cupcakes with lots of colors. But all of the doodles will inspire your child’s creativity and imagination.

Doodle Washington D.C. is refreshingly innocent and child-friendly. However, families who do not celebrate Halloween may prefer to skip a page or two.

Doodle Washington DC Review by Momz in the Know

review by Momz in the Know

”I like that children can complete the pages in this book independently and then the completed pages can be used as springboard to further discuss the topics with a parent or other adult. This activity book is a fun way to introduce students in lower grades to geography and history.”

”It’s a wonderful resource to pull out as an option for keeping hands busy and voices quiet while we do our morning reading time together each day. The kids enjoy passing the book around or even working on an entire spread together at the same time. ”

Great Introduction...

to our nation's capital! My son has not been to Washington D.C. before and it was fun to discuss all the different sites there. Also, a very fun book for doodling. I loved the pictures and the directions.

For my budding artist

This is for my budding artist but my other child shows no interest. We love the DC references.

We use this in our spare time just for fun. It’s good for art time but I don’t find that it contains much educational information.

Nothing too exciting here

This was not our favorite book this year. It asks kids to doodle on current DC monuments/attractions. It doesn’t educate at all about the landmarks and my child just didn’t really enjoy this workbook. I would have loved to have been able to read a blurb to my kid about what the importance of all these things were - I could have gone searching on my own, but it just didn’t happen. We loved our 1st grade curriculum from Timberdoodle, but this was probably our least favorite.

Doodle Washington

Because my six-year-old daughter wasn’t super familiar with DC in the beginning of the year I feel like a lot of this was lost on her without much exclamation. But recently we’ve been learning more about DC especially with the inauguration it’s been neat to see the connection in her eyes.
