Famous Figures of the Renaissance

In government schools, history tends to be a read-only subject. Thankfully, however, your home-schooled children have options. If you have a child who dreads reading but loves art and drama, the Famous Figures series is the perfect history supplement.
Each meticulous Famous Figures of the Renaissance illustration is based on authentic mosaics, paintings, and sculptures. Easy-to-assemble colored characters are printed on heavy cardstock with perforated pages for trouble-free removal. Cut out the figures, punch holes where directed, attach some common fasteners, and your Famous Figures of the Renaissance are ready to take center stage as your child reenacts the time period.
If your student is an avid artist, she will be pleased to discover that a colorable version of each figure is also included on the same sturdy cardstock. Fill in each figure with hues as realistic or exotic as you wish.
Famous Figures of the Renaissance includes figures of ten key people from the time period, including Johannes Gutenberg, Christopher Columbus, Isabella I, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Martin Luther, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, and Galileo Galilei. A detailed biography section provides key information about the characters. A companion reading list for each figure is included for parent/teacher read-alouds and independent readers.

This is such a great supplement to a history lesson. History tends to be boring but these make it come alive!!
This has been a great way to reinforce history concepts. My first grader has thoroughly enjoyed putting them together. It’s great to have both options to color it yourself or use one that’s already colored. The moving parts are really well done and I love the little cards that go with each figure. Once we’ve put together several I’m looking forward to acting out some scenes with the puppets!
Super fun way to teach kids about famous people in history. My girls really enjoy designing their own figure and learning about the person.
My daughter loves these. She plays with all the figures and actually wants to read the little bios on each one.
These figures really bring The Story of the World book even further to life. My son has enjoyed colouring the figures and I've been busy fixing them all together. We have enjoyed finding out about each figure with the in depth information in the book, and tying them in with our read aloud.
