Wile E. Coyote Physical Science Genius, 4-Book Set
Our price: $31.95
Since 1948, Wile E. Coyote has used complex contraptions to make repeated, unsuccessful attempts to catch the elusive Road Runner. This classic cartoon is known for both exaggerating and blatantly breaking the laws of physics. Now, with lighthearted text and comical illustrations, Wile E. Coyote, Physical Science Genius explains the science behind the coyote’s failed attempts.
Your child will learn basic physics while guffawing over Wile E. Coyote’s poorly planned ventures to get ahold of Road Runner. Wile E. Coyote, Physical Science Genius is a cheery introduction to the essential principles that govern physical science in our daily lives.
These books caught my eye because OF COURSE Wile E. Coyote should be teaching physics. When our box arrived, it was the first thing my second-grader picked up (and begged to open early), and he looked through them all that day. The cartoon humor is a wonderful platform for introducing the physics-based concepts on which each book focuses, and he is already excited to build some similar machines using his own materials at home. I could not be happier!
My son (7) LOVES Looney Tunes and LOVES science. So when I was browsing the website to prepare for this year's curriculum and stumbled across this, I instantly ordered them. He loves them!!! He's constantly reading them just for fun and giggling over the pictures. Great resource to teach physics to younger kids!!
These books are not only cute but packed full of information! We use them during science class and my second grader likes to get them and read them on her own. They teach some harder concepts in a silly way which helps the kids to remember them.
My children enjoyed these books and the illustrations in them. The text between the flight and gravity, speed and velocity, and forces and motion is somewhat repetitive as they all cover speed/velocity but the subjects are interrelated so some of that is to be expected. These are helpful to approach a difficult subject in a fun way.
My daughter really enjoyed reading these together and is now able to read them on her own. It was a great way to introduce new concepts without overwhelming her.
