Wow, a geography puzzle with a history tutorial built in! The 4D Cityscape USA History Over Time Puzzle is a unique 4-D puzzle that enables you to incorporate the fourth dimension of time as you piece together the growth of the USA.
Layers Help Illustrate the Passage of Time
The first layer of the USA History Over Time Puzzle is made up of 806 cardboard pieces, and details the territorial expansions that occurred from 1783 to the 1900s. The second layer is made of sixty-five pieces of dense foam, including mountain layers, that are assembled on top of the territorial expansions. Follow the included time poster to assemble and learn the sequence and dates of statehood. This layer presents the United States as we currently know them.
Puzzle Includes 3-D Historical Buildings and Monuments
Finally, and probably a universal favorite, is placing USA History Over Time Puzzle’s ninety-three 3-D historical buildings and monuments in the puzzle in the order that they were constructed. First, snap the pieces free from their plastic bases. Then, using the 4-D Cityscape Time Poster, match the piece to the picture of the model, locate the correct placement on the puzzle, and insert the model into the foam base.
Watch History Unfold Before Your Eyes

Looks great, but we haven't finished it yet.
He put this together in one day. It took awhile but he did learn a lot while putting it together.
As a homeschool mom of 4, I love when I can make learning fun. This was our big end of the year project. It was very hard but a lot of fun. The colors are very similar so it was hard to determine what piece went with which territory. Also, some pieces fit in several spots so that added to the difficulty. Overall we did really enjoy it!
My 7 year old loves puzzles and geography so I thought this would be right up her alley. Unfortunately, I clearly missed the recommended ages for it. When we open the package we were amazing at the number of pieces and the level of intricacy. It is a REALLY COOL puzzle and is beautifully detailed, but it will be a real challenge for my daughter to do. We'll be making this one a family evening activity.
I bought the History over Time puzzle so we could learn more about landmarks and where they were located. We paired it with America the Beautiful. My children 5,7,9,11 enjoyed doing it. I liked how the first layer is tiny pieces but the second layer the pieces are bigger so the little ones could help. It also has 93 monuments and buildings to attach to the puzzle. We learned alot and had fun.
