Anomia Kids is a loud, hilarious, high-energy game that both kids and adults will enjoy playing. Playfully-illustrated and easy to learn, Anomia Kids will have beginning readers through adults sharpening their thinking, visual perception, and speech-language skills.
The directions are simple. Draw a card from the center pile, flip it over, and see if the symbol matches another player's card. If it does, you must quickly blurt out a word that begins with the same sound as the illustration before your opponent does the same. Whoever shouts first (because let's be honest, this is not a game for inside voices), wins that round.
The creator of Anomia Kids knows that though our minds are full of all kinds of information, under pressure, our brains have trouble with word and sound association and recall. Anomia Kids will reinforce beginning sounds and broaden language skills as we strive to remember multiple words that can work for a given picture. It can even be used to strengthen any foreign language skills, so it would be a perfect drill for a foreign language co-op your child is a part of. Anomia Kids is a National Parent Product Awards winner for 2018. For 3-6 players who know their beginning sounds.

”Our family totally loves card games, and although this says 'Kids' it is really appropriate for teens and adults, too. It's very fun and fast-paced.”Watch the Video Review
Surprised at how much we enjoy this game as a family! Anytime we’re having a not so great school day we break this game out and it’s instantly better. Plus. They actually use their brains!! Win win.
My kids really enjoyed this game, from my 7 yo to my 14 yo. I was afraid it would be too challenging for the younger one but once she got the hang of it she was right up there with the rest of them.
So this game has the potential to be fun, but we have a kiddo with speech issues so we will be putting it on the backburner for a while. It needs a quick tongue, and a wild imagination! It can get loud with the excitement (sorry neighbors!)
This is a great game to play in homeschool or just for fun as a family. It is fast paced and is sure to bring lots of giggles and laughs. For now our little one plays on a team with an older family member but she still loves it.
Don’t get relaxed, stay alert! Each play brings new matches, hurry, say a word! Oh shoot grandma is saying rhymes, 6year old Julie is freaking trying to think but blank, Geno (9) finds favorite words and responds pretty fast. Lots of laughs but an anxiety and upbeat paced game simple enough for littles but keeps adults on their toes!
