The Math-U-See Manipulatives are more than a supplement, they are an integral part of the curriculum. Used from the Primer through Algebra 1 levels, the manipulatives build each concept from place value through polynomials though the use of Integer Blocks, Fraction Overlays, and Algebra/Decimal Inserts.
If you are looking for a manipulative-based curriculum that ensures your children will be able to fully understand each mathematical concept before moving on to another one, you have found it. For more than 20 years Math-U-See’s renowned mastery-based, multisensory, student-paced program has been the answer for countless families. Math-U-See is a complete, comprehensive K-12 math curriculum that uses manipulatives to illustrate and teach the concepts. If you regularly experience tears from your child whenever new mathematical topics are introduced, you need Math-U-See’s systematic, precept-upon-precept math program.

Please note: Math-U-See comes in a standard cardboard box with lightweight plastic tray. These do not hold up well, either in shipment or in daily life, so we'd suggest considering a different long-term storage option, such as a bin or bag. Our crew always does their best, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the packaging will arrive in good condition.
CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
These seem pricey but are necessary to the Math-U-See curriculum! They are very well made and will last you throughout the years of math and there are enough to be used by multiple students at once!
This manipulative kit is critical for the Math U See program going as smoothly as possible. The size has been good for little hands, matches up perfectly with the worksheets, and the color system is memorable and seems to make learning the math facts a lot quicker. These double as a really fun toy for my crew, who beg to play with them once math lessons are over. They hold up well for that, too. They are a bit of an investment upfront -- my only complaint -- but something we can use year after year for multiple kids. I'd also note that, despite Timberdoodle's note about the packaging being flimsy, we've found the cardboard box and plastic insert to be sufficient for storage for us, now on our third year of lots of use.
