All About Spelling Level 1
You know that kids learn in a variety of ways. That is why a multisensory approach, like All About Spelling (AAS), is so successful. But children also differ in their motivational approach to learning. You may have an inquisitive child who really wants to understand the ins and outs of spelling, while his sibling just doesn’t care. If you have a child who thrives on spelling rules and who is most comfortable understanding the reasoning behind each word’s spelling, he will adore AAS, because in each spelling lesson, a single new rule or concept is taught. The award-winning AAS provides complete and comprehensive instruction using the multisensory Orton-Gillingham explicit teaching approach.
Is My Student Ready For All About Spelling Level 1?
If your child has completed All About Reading Level 1 or the equivalent reading instruction, he is likely ready for All About Spelling Level 1. By first completing All About Reading Level 1 or the equivalent, you provide your student with a strong foundation in basic reading skills before beginning their spelling instruction.
All About Spelling is a building-block program, where each level builds on the skills taught in the previous levels. Because of this, most students start All About Spelling at Level 1.
What will my student learn in level 1?
Your student will learn encoding skills, reliable spelling rules, and multisensory strategies for spelling, along with exciting new concepts, including phonograms, consonant teams, segmenting, syllables, consonant blends, initial blends, final blends, and plurals. Phonological awareness and encoding skills are taught throughout Level 1. Below is a sampling in each area:

All about Spelling is amazing! My daughter loves it and looks forward to spelling everyday. The use of this with the sound APP has really clicked with my child. I love to see her excitement with spelling now. The way this is taught really helps her understand the process. I cannot recommend these products enough.
We have tried several spelling curriculums and none of them stick. My daughter HATES doing spelling. I bought this to try out this year and after reviewing the contents I am hopeful this is going to work for us! I really like the quality of the product and the ease of use. I also like how it relates to all about reading as we are on level 2 this year. This will help avoid confusing sounds and build a stronger foundation for spelling and reading.
Easy to teach and easy for the child to understand
I bought All about spelling level 1 for my 6 year old, and it's honestly the best investment I've made so far this year... I cannot recommend this program enough! We use the magnetic tiles on a big whiteboard, and he absolutely loves moving the tiles around to make words. Each morning he puts the tiles on the board, which enforces the alphabetical order, something we were having problems with getting him to memorize. Well within 2 weeks of setting the board up daily, he got it!
He gets confident in spellin the words listed by using the tiles, without having the pressure of having to remember the formation of the letter, so by the time we take it to paper, he can focus on the formation because he knows the spelling so well!
The keycards and word cards are a great way to enforce spelling rules also, and the company has a website where you can freely download so many fun games and activities to use with their curriculum! I highly recommend this program, not just for struggling spellers but for every kid! Spelling can be fun :)
Its hands on and helps my son soar with spelling
