First Language Lessons Level 3
If your approach to language arts is a blend of classical education with a pinch of Charlotte Mason’s ideas, then you will be quite pleased with First Language Lessons. With two to three short lessons a week, First Language Lessons Level 3 covers a full range of grammar topics, including parts of speech, punctuation, sentence diagrams, and the prewriting skills of narrating and storytelling.

It requires very little teacher prep; just open the instruction manual, read the script, and follow directions to teach the concepts. The student workbook has appealing fonts and plenty of white space so the individual pages are less intimidating for children. First Language Lessons Level 3’s spiral learning ensures mastery for every child, important for this foundational year of language study.

Bundle includes First Language Lessons 3 Student Workbook and First Language Lessons 3 Instructor Text.

From the Publisher:
First Language Lessons Level 3 reinforces the grammar and writing concepts introduced in the previous levels. It also introduces new material, including sentence diagramming. Level 3 is designed to follow Levels 1 and 2, but it can also be used as a first grammar text for older students. The optional end-units on writing letters, dictionary skills, and oral usage allow you to tailor the instruction to the needs of your child.

I works for us.

Overall, I feel like this curriculum is a little dry. HOWEVER, my son is learning from it! I like that the lessons are short and there is a lot of review, and he is constantly using earlier taught skills. Although it is a little dry, I will purchase the next level because he's learning!

A Parents Handy Helper!

I saw this book when we received it and cringed....BUT it is so simple to follow, short manageable lessons and great information. My son actually likes the little stories and poems sprinkled throughout and he seems to grasp the content pretty quickly and retain it!

Don’t let the size intimidate you

We both looked at this book and didn’t know what to think. He said ‘ugh I know this already’. Well, guess what? He didn’t!
The instruction manual is perfect and word for word teaches. The workbook is just enough to teach but doesn’t go on forever. Really enjoy using this so far!

I think its great!

I love that there is literally zero teacher prep. very easy to use. Lessons are short and to the point. My 8 year old daughter has been learning so much from this curriculum and has never complained when it comes to working with these books.

We love FFL!

One of our favorites! As a mom teaching multiple kids, I love how easy FFL is to teach. I also love that the lessons are short and to the point. We have learned so much with this curriculum. We just completed the first poem memorization and the confidence it gave my daughter was so needed and awesome!
