Kumon My First Book of Money Counting Coins
Publisher: Kumon Publishing
Published In: China
My daughter has been working on coin counting for a while. We’ve used real coin, and now she’s using this book to reinforce this skill in a more concrete way. It’s very colorful and child friendly!
Our math curriculum doesn’t teach money this year, and my K and 1st grade students are super interested in it. This is an easy workbook to add into our routine. They like it a lot!
This is a great tool to use for critical thinking and problem solving! My 6 year old son enjoys the mazes!
We used this to supplement my daughter's math curriculum. She liked the pages and enjoyed doing the work, but it tended to be very repetitive (more than we needed since we were counting coins in her main curriculum). It is a nice "extra".
We have always loved the Kumon books. They are colorful, handy and just the right size. This one is especially helpful when teaching your children about money. My daughter struggles with knowing the different values of each coin and because this is in color she is able to better distinguish a few of the pieces. We used Math-U-See math curriculum last year and it didn't cover coins so we needed a little practice. We are doing Saxon this year and I understand that it will be covered in the 2nd grade book so we will get more practice. I'm thankful for Kumon and the colorful products that they offer.
