Kumon Amazing Mazes
What child doesn't love the challenge of mazes? Mazes allow your child the opportunity to practice basic pencil control in an enjoyable, exciting way. These pencil skills are necessary for the legible writing of letters and numbers. Plus because mazes are naturally absorbing they help your child acquire the ability to reason, interpret, understand and concentrate. These elemental skills are some of the bedrock essentials for later academics.

My son loves to do mazes so this is one of the rare fun school activities for him.
I wasn't too sure about this purchase when we made it seeing as how my 6 year old hadn't done any mazes and tends to be easily frustrated. We've been pleasantly surprised, not only is my son able to do and enjoy these, but they have also helped him handle his frustration better because he wants to do the mazes so much. I actually use the mazes as a incentive to get him to focus on him other work first.
I really like figuring out the mazes. I like the pictures.
We love the mazes in this book We use this in between two harder lessons so my son has a chance to unwind a bit.
My daughter loves doing these mazes. She begs to do more and she's flying through it. Some mazes look more like maps and some are more abstract geometrical shapes, so I like that there's a variety in the complexity. It gave a tip at the beginning to have your child first solve the maze by tracing their finger and then after that write on the page with a pencil. This has helped her a lot to quickly problem solve the puzzle without being too discouraged with erase marks or pencil lines everywhere. Love this book and will buy more when she's finished flying through this one!
