Exploring Creation with Physical Science 2-book Set
Our price: $89.95
Exploring Creation with Physical Science 2-book Set is designed to be the last science course the student takes before high school biology. Thus, we generally recommend it as an 8th grade course. However, your student can also use it for their 9th grade course work. The text discusses such topics as the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, weather, the structure of the earth, environmentalism, the physics of motion, Newton’s Laws, gravity, and astrophysics.
The author especially concentrates on the myths generated by the hysterical environmentalist movement. There are many hands-on experiments to do, and they all use household chemicals and supplies. It is an excellent course for preparing the student to take a college-prep high school science curriculum. See our optional lab kit here.
Apologia: Setting the Standard
Without a doubt, Apologia has been setting standards for science textbooks for years. If you have ever doubted the thoroughness of a science text, one glance at these large textbooks will allay all fears! If your child thrives on detailed explanations and lots of information, Apologia is a great place to start.
Written For Christian Homeschoolers
The full color illustrations and written-for-homeschoolers text have immediate appeal. On closer look, the Christian worldview provides a solid foundation. I believe that a scientist who grasps the God of creation will have a tremendous head start as he moves onward into research and development, treating patients, or further study.
A Word Of Warning
These books are not for every student. They are massive, detailed and require a fair amount of math. A student who does not yet excel at math or will be overwhelmed by the textbook format may lose their zeal for science if forced to proceed down this track. Instead, we suggest looking at the Paradigm Curriculum for a gentler approach that will feed their interest without overwhelming them.
Apologia Is Perfect For…
…the student who loves science and isn't scared by math. He or she may want to pursue a career in the field, proceed to college, or simply satisfy their thirst for knowledge. Many homeschool families have found these to be a cornerstone of their student's higher education and we are sure you'll find them a worthy investment.
Audiobook CD and Full Course DVD Also Available
The Exploring Creation With Physical Science MP3 Audio CD and Exploring Creation With Physical Science Full Course DVD (sold separately) are designed to be used in place of or with the Exploring Creation With General Science Text.

My daughter has used Exploring Creation for her Science and she loves it!! The student journal is beautifully put together and makes it more fun for her!
I like this science in some ways & in some ways I don't. First, the notebook is cool & it has a lot of really neat pictures to look at of space. The experiments are really cool too & usually don't use anything we don't already have around the house, so I like that. What I don't like is that the questions don't always word things the way the textbook does. So when you are looking for the answer, a lot of times you have to really figure it out because the book doesn't just say it plainly like the question is asking.
It is descriptive and complicated, which I like. The book goes really deep into the subjects from the modules.
This is a wonderful introduction to high school science. My eight grade son really enjoyed and learned a lot about earth science, physics and chemistry from this course. The book is well laid out and very readable. I would certainly recommend this for a 8-9th grade student.
It's easy to see why Dr. Wile's science books are usually the default among older homeschooled students. The writing is a conversational tone that makes the book a joy to read, and the child can learn with minimal help from the parent. Additionally, at this level the labs use regular household materials that can be purchased at the grocery store, so you don't have to seek out a specialty supplier. We're using this for a 9th grader, and I'd highly recommend it.
