Robotis PLAY 600 Pets
Robotis PLAY 600 Pets
Now even children with emerging fine motor skills can experience the excitement of building their own robots with Robotis PLAY 600 Pets. Modeled after the smaller, more advanced Dream series, but with larger chunky pieces, the easy entry-level robotics kit Robotis PLAY 600 Pets introduces your children to the fundamentals of simple automation.
Robotis PLAY 600 Pets' step-by-step assembly instructions show your child how to build up to seven moving pet robots. Easy to assemble; no tools are required so imaginative scientists can expand on these ideas while exercising creativity and developing fine motor skills. What a great combination for learning science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. Requires two AA batteries (not included). Recommended for ages 6 years and up, but we feel some 5-year-olds may be ready for this challenge.

CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
Fun hands-on learning for my 1st and 2nd grader. My boys enjoy it, but Mom has to help. Not something they are willing to do alone. I think this aspect would be different depending on your child.
I'll admit I struggled with helping my 5-year-old build the models based on the paper instructions alone. It was difficult for me to interpret where to put the pieces, much less my daughter. However, downloading the free app on our tablet was a game changer! She regularly looks through the videos and 3-D steps just for fun, and it makes it so easy to see where to place the pieces. You can zoom in and out, and move the 3-D model in all directions to see exactly what the entire model looks like. I don't mind helping her build the robots as she's still young, but with practice she is getting better on her own too!
My son was so excited to build his own robots. He built the dog fairly easily on his own and then moved onto the bird but in the process it somehow quit working. It’s like it doesn’t have enough power to make the robot move. Very disappointed that he only got one use out of it. Also frustrating that the instructions only had 3 robots to build anyway.
That sounds super disappointing! Could it be possible you received a defective set? If you think this is so, please feel free to contact us so we can make this right for you.
Also, you may be interested in knowing there is a free app you can download for more models to build! You can find the information on here on this product page. :-)

This was really fun for my 1st grade daughter. We used the app that showed all the projects and she could do it on her own with the directions video. She was so proud of herself after completing each of the projects.
It’s always a highlight when we get to incorporate this into our school week. Fun and easy to use instructions.
