Robotis PLAY 600 Pets
Now even children with emerging fine motor skills can experience the excitement of building their own robots with Robotis PLAY 600 Pets. Modeled after the smaller, more advanced Dream series, but with larger chunky pieces, the easy entry-level robotics kit Robotis PLAY 600 Pets introduces your children to the fundamentals of simple automation.
Robotis PLAY 600 Pets' step-by-step assembly instructions show your child how to build up to seven moving pet robots. Easy to assemble; no tools are required so imaginative scientists can expand on these ideas while exercising creativity and developing fine motor skills. What a great combination for learning science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. Requires two AA batteries (not included). Recommended for ages 6 years and up, but we feel some 5-year-olds may be ready for this challenge.
Builds 1 model at a time.
Includes directions to build a Puppy, Bluebird, and Cricket in the box.
Directions for a Whale, Goldfish, Polar Bear, and even a Tank are available free online on RoboPlus Design (R+ Design).

I had high hopes for this stem kit, however I think it is too difficult for a first grader. At least it is too difficult for my first grader. I end up having to show her each step before she can do it on her own.
I am happy with our purchase of Robotis PLAY 600. I like the step by step pictures in the manual and just wish that it included the directions for making all seven of the the models instead of only three. Is there a way to get them in printable form?
Otherwise, this is a neat and non consumable project, I should be able to use this for all of my children.
My son loved the robotic pet we ordered! It was so much fun watching him follow the directions and put something together on his own. We had some great quality time together while he did it. He really loves engineering and building, so this was a perfect craft for him!
My 1st Grader loves this kit! He finished the first robot and instantly wanted to start on the second! I'm excited to see if he starts creating his own from the tools he has!
Perfect kit for my son who loves to build things. We love stem projects around here. Very cute too!
