Kumon Kindergarten Logic
Kindergarten Logic from Kumon develops your child’s logical thinking skills through activities such as making comparisons, distinguishing real from pretend, and analyzing patterns. Skills are introduced incrementally, increasing in difficulty as your child masters each theme. Kindergarten Logic also includes notes and advice to parents to help your child navigate the book with minimal stress and to deepen his ability to think logically.
My daughter would sit down and do the entire Kumon Kindergarten Logic workbook if I let her. It was designed to be consumable, but all you're supposed to do is put a check-mark on the right answer, so I'm just having her point to the right answer, and I can use the book for the next kid. too.
Generally I like Kumon workbooks, but this one was not our favorite at all. Some of the topics (like patterns) felt like they were repeated ad nauseum, and there were a handful of pages where the instructions weren't clear enough even for me to be completely sure what was expected. I love finding quality color workbooks, since my kids think color worksheets are something of a treat, but this one missed the mark for us.
My son looked forward to using this every day. I love fun, educational books that don’t seem like work at all. The book is divided into sections for each skill with multiple levels per skill.
When my son was in kindergarten, he enjoyed this workbook up until half way through he did get a bit tired of it through no fault of the actual product though. He is just more hands on and prefers logical puzzles with manipulatives. I will buy this for my daughter next year when she's ready for it. We also love the certificates at the end of Kumon workbooks!
The other day I told my K5 son to pick a book to help him not be bored at the dentist. This was one of his top choices. I love that this book (and this series) is fun to him and makes him love doing book work.
