The Basics of Critical Thinking
The Basics of Critical Thinking is one of our favorite books from The Critical Thinking Co. This workbook’s color illustrations, engaging storylines, and clear explanations teach your student how to think. He'll learn about common argument forms and practice the important skill of identifying and evaluating evidence. The Basics of Critical Thinking teaches such a vital skill that your student just might find that it's the part of this year’s schoolwork that he uses most throughout the rest of his life. Plus, he will have such a blast completing it!

Although this book teaches common argument forms, its primary focus is identifying and evaluating evidence – the very basis of critical thinking. Most propaganda, advertising schemes, legal trickery, and bad science are not the result of complex arguments; they are the result of half-truths and simple arguments. The Basics of Critical Thinking utilizes an engaging, yet far from juvenile, approach to provide your student with the tools to see through such false arguments. Appropriate for students as young as 4th grade and up through 9th grade.

    The Basics of Critical Thinking

To my opinion this is one of the most important books in my sons curriculum. Living in a time where scams and financial trickery and bad science are so prevalent, it is ever important to teach our children how to discern truth from error. This book does just that, and will aid my son in making wise decisions for years to come.

    Basics of Critical Thinking

I already finished my "Basics of Critical Thinking" book because it was so fun. I loved the critical thinking strategies. I love the colorful pictures. I also love the problems where you listen to the clues and figure out who the bad guy is. I love that book. The book is about 8 1/2 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches tall. I would recommend it for kids who don't want to do a thick black and white solemn thinking book. I think even high schoolers would like and learn from it. Thank you for having such fun books!
