This program is designed for the child who is ready to learn to read this year. Of course, most kindergartners are eager hands-on learners too, so we've included the very best hands-on tools available to be sure you both enjoy this year! With creative art, systematic thinking skills, robust STEM construction, and astonishing science experiments, this year will be a year packed with happy memories for both of you!
We asked parents who used our Kindergarten Kit how long their student spent on "school." They estimated that they spent an average of 1-3 hours a day on their kit, on 4-5 days a week. You’ll be able to plan yours to work best for you with your access to the online Timberdoodle Scheduler, included with your kit. Make sure you allow yourself and your child some time to find your own rhythm!

I LOVED being able to customize the Kindergarten Kit!! I was really able to tailor it to what our family needs, and put it at a price that works for us. I like the reading challenge and suggestions in the handbook and the schedule checklist was perfect. I recommend choosing the daily schedule if you don't really know what you are doing, like me. I do wish you could take individual days off, instead of just whole week chunks. I would like to be able to take Fridays off, to clean. Right now, we just double up on Thursday. This program is wonderful and I can't wait to put together the First Grade Kit.
We are loving this kit! It was great for me to be able to order one kit and it come with everything I needed. We are loving Math U See and All About Reading. This kit comes with so many extras and hands on activities. We appreciate all the learning activities and art opportunities! This is a total win for my active boy!
As the title states, and that's an understatement. We switched from Abeka k5 as my active learner loves to move around and the strictly bookwork filled Abeka wasn't cutting it for him. A friend had suggested Timberdoodle. I'm so glad we listened and switched. My active learner enjoys school time now, especially the gear set and the Smart Farmer and Red Riding Hood games.
This kit is the perfect balance of learning and hands-on that my very active son was begging for. I would so recommend this kit and program to anyone who has a kid who just wants to go, go, go. Will definitely be ordering a 1st grade kit if it's anything like the kindergarten kit
one happy mama
I love how hands-on everything is in this curriculum! My son was so excited when the two GIANT boxes arrived, and he couldn't wait for school to start before he started using things. He was so excited when he realized on the first day that he was already reading words! So far we are really enjoying everything with the exception of the Building Blocks of Science activity book, which seems to be a glorified coloring book. I was also a little disappointed in the Aquarellum Mini - Cats. A pretty expensive product for 2 cards to watercolor. Love everything else though!
I bought the custom Kindergarten kit for my little. Overall I was overly satisfied with Timberdoodle and the ease of putting together a curriculum especially as a new homeschooling parent. We ended up leveling up to 1st grade for math, spelling and reading so we got a separate 1st grade kit as well. Things we really enjoyed with this kit were the Mazes. We paired it with geography so we would learn about the maze that we did with something about that area and finding it on the map. My little is amazing at mazes and puzzles and was sad when we finished the book. The building blocks of science K was not a favorite. It was extremely repetitive (which may be great for this age) and at times just felt like a glorified coloring book. The boom kit was great that it came with everything that we needed but the manual was small and difficult for my 6 year old to follow along with to "help". The Kumon Logic book was great for distinguishing patterns at this age. The ThinkGears was frustrating at times especially in the beginning of the year. I wanted something that she could work on without me hovering over her. We used it a lot towards the end of the year as she was much more independent with it. Overall I found that this kit was exceptional for our needs as a blended K/1st grader!!
