2019 Second-Grade Curriculum Kit
(Free Ground Shipping on your entire order when you purchase 2019 Second-Grade Curriculum Kit)
This year you will love helping your child improve his reading, math and thinking skills. He will study the work of ancient scientists, learn about the Middle Ages, and build 50 rugged STEM models. With creative art, engaging logic games, and an exposure to geography and culture around the world, this year will be a year packed with happy memories for both of you!
We asked parents who used our Second-Grade Kit how long their student spent on "school,” and they estimated that their students spent 1-4 hours a day on their kit, working 4-5 days a week. That variation is likely to be impacted by how in-depth you take your child's studies, what your child's learning approach is, how distractible he is, and much more. You’ll be able to plan yours to work best for you with your access to the online Timberdoodle Scheduler, included with your kit. Make sure you allow yourself and your child some time to find your own rhythm!

I struggled to decide on a curriculum kit versus choosing all of my own materials, but as a first year homeschooler I am so happy I chose this option. It made the transition smooth and less stressful.
Because my son struggles with reading, I switched the Level 3 All About Reading curriculum for Level 2. This is an absolutely fantastic reading curriculum and I cannot say enough good about it! It gives your child every opportunity to become a better reader through helpful decoding strategies using games, fun activity sheets, magnetic letters, and fun and engaging stories. It is easy to follow and there are tons of ideas and resources in the back of the teacher’s manual.
The Spelling You See curriculum is great because it combines both spelling and handwriting.
Math U See- Beta is a fantastic math curriculum that helps students to really understand numbers and place value. We keep a small DVD player in our school room and my son can watch the videos and then we take several days for him to do the accompanying worksheets. There are also some fun crossword puzzles and color by numbers sprinkled into the workbooks.
The Story of the World is a really interesting and enjoyable social studies curriculum. I wasn’t sure if my son would like it, but it is one of his favorite subjects! I love it too!
All of the other resources that come in this kit are top notch. We are also enjoying all of the science experiments, geography book, and the art workbooks. I ordered the Elite kit, which turned out to be much more than what we can fit into a school day, but I am still glad to have all of it. We gave my son the mad matter and some of the art sets for his birthday and plan to give him the Engino set for Christmas. This gives him some high-quality, educational gifts. I may save a few of the workbooks for next year, but I would rather have more to work with than not enough. Excellent kit!
What a great program! A homeschool curriculum box that is still within my core values and beliefs. My boy loved the introduction to multiplication and I love that you offer Math U See. I love the hands on approach. I would love to see more introduction to Art techniques with this curriculum but our day was still so full of fun activities offered along with the curriculum.
Love the teacher's manual...how things are explained. Do not like the Science book because it enphasizes too much about the philosophers being wrong.
Science is our favorite this year. Science in the ancient world is a very hands on book woth actual experiments everyday. It helped the kids not only understand but become involved with the class. I didnt enjoy Building thinking Skills. Instead of using the skill book evwry day I just used it as extra learning to go with the classes we were already working on. I enjoy more hands on classes then this but we srill utilized this book i just did not use it everyday.
