This year you will love helping your child continue to plan for college, an apprenticeship, or a specific vocation. He will study physics and chemistry, modern world history, and algebra 2. With robust STEM kits, a humorous logic book, and hands-on materials that develop spatial reasoning and scientific knowledge, this year of high school will be a year packed with happy memories for both of you!
We asked the families who used our high school kits how long their students spent on "school." Most of the families worked on academics 4 or 5 days a week and spent 3-5 hours a day specifically on Timberdoodle materials. It is common for families to spend more or less time than that, so don't stress if your schedule doesn't exactly match up. And, of course, the time you spend will be greatly impacted by how in-depth your student takes their studies, their learning approach, how distractible they allow themselves to be, and much more. You’ll be able to plan yours to work best for you with your access to the online Timberdoodle Scheduler, included with your kit. Make sure you allow your family some time to find your own rhythm!

[Loved] Writing with Skill, Word Roots.
I love how convenient the kit is with all of the subjects ready to go. I would include teacher books with each subject and not just a cd or combined student/teacher book. We HATED that the books were either combined or the teacher one was just a cd or online doc.
The math program this year really seems to be a better fit for our child. The teaching method has taken apprehension about math and replaced it with confidence. History is another great course. The only change that would be appreciated would be a workbook with all the pretests, quizzes, etc. so all the copying could be eliminated. The writing course is tedious. There must be a way to teach the essentials of writing and make them more enjoyable. Literature is taught very well as is word roots and grammar. Critical thinking has been very interesting and so has the science program.
I Love being able to customize a kit for my children. I feel they are able to get exactly what interests them and offers not just book work, but interactive and hands on education!
The best part is the flexibility. Our family does not keep a regular schedule. For different reasons, we travel quite a bit, and having this curriculum made it easy to stop and start back. We had a custom curriculum, and it is AWESOME to be able to choose items that are most appropriate for your students and their abilities.
