Needle felting is like painting with wool, but the paint is wool roving (a long, narrow bundle of wool fiber), and the brush is a sharp, barbed needle. When a felting needle is stabbed through wool, the tiny, single-direction barbs pull in the wool, attaching it to the linen fabric.
A reusable foam mat serves as a work surface, so your student can spare your table or his leg as he stabs the needle through the wool and fabric. The comfortable suede leather finger guards add another safety level for your child as he adds details, texture, and depth to his felt art.
An absorbing craft, Barn Owl Wool Painting Kit Deluxe comes with everything your teen needs to create a stunning framed masterpiece. Access to an in-depth video tutorial is included.
We suggest allowing 20 to 30 minutes a week to work on your project.
