Channie's My First Letters
Because legible handwriting remains an essential skill necessary for communication, give your PreK student a valuable edge with My First Letters. This uncomplicated method to handwriting is based on repetition in the form of tracing. There are three pages of practice devoted to each letter. First, there are pages each for tracing the capital and lowercase letters. Then, after working to develop muscle memory for that letter, the third page is for practicing the letter without tracing. An instructional example starts each page, so there is no guessing as to how to form the letter.
There are pictures to color, and the same image is used for both the upper and lower case letters to solidify that even though they look different, they are the same letter. The removable pages are nice and thick, easy to erase if necessary, and the spaces are very generous and wide. Also included is practice for numbers 1-9. 80 pages.

This has been a great learning tool for us in our home to help practice handwriting skills. Our little one loves to color the pictures on each page as she works on practicing her letters. We actually enjoyed the book so much we bought it again to use in Kindergarten. She wasn't quite ready to move up to Easy Peasy letters so we decided to repeat this book to perfect her letters first. It's going amazing!
We are only half way through. I wish it did all capitals then all lower case and matched the reading program. But it gives us lots of practice.
Great way to teach kids how to properly write their letters.
I have been using this alongside the All About Reading PreReading program. Instead of working through it page by page I choose work according to what our letter of the day is or when we specifically need more review on a certain letter.
I separated all the pages and keep them in a large envelope so that I'm able to just pull out the one he would be working on for the day.
This has been a great tool for us in our home to help practice handwriting skills. There are lots of practice opportunities and the instructions and examples are very straight forward and easy to follow. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is our little one prefers color pages. Great learning tool and highly recommend.
