I like how this book gives you options to do experiments, create crafts or to do extra research online for the topic. We do 2 lessons a week over 4 days. This was our fist yearusing this curriculum.

Difficult to comprehend

I found this material difficult to teach, and my child found it difficult to comprehend. New vocabulary is quickly taught and then instantly used without much of a chance to fully understand. The material wasn't presented in a manner suited for a young mind. It reads very much like a text book which is not engaging for a 5th grader at all. My child read the Dr. Boneyfide book in one sitting, and regularly reads Magic School bus. This book was boring. There was also at least one mistake, mislabeling a solvent and solution. We didn't make it past lesson 10. I did like the options presented in the instructors manual for presenting the information to the different learning styles.

This is our first year using this curriculum. So far we are enjoying the simple lessons.
