”Apollo is a fifth-grader and has been enjoying this. It seems to fall perfectly in the range of fun and challenging but not too baby-ish (something ten-year-old boys are very aware of).”Read the Review
My son absolutely loved this book!! I had to ask him to stop working in it on several occasions because he was working through it so fast! We will definitely be purchasing more in this series.
This is the perfect boy book. Motivating to read. Silly to draw in. It's great creativity for my son!
My son has trouble coming up with creative ideas when he draws. He never knows what to draw. This is perfect because it tells him exactly what to draw. Since he loves graphic novels, I knew this would be a hit.
So my son, 9 years old, hates writing. Absolutely abhors it. He is also not a big fan of arts and crafts, which breaks my artist heart just a little bit... I have tried a lot of different approaches, but none worked so far.
This doodlebook, with its hard cover and funny jokes, made a difference! The jokes are funny (finally being allowed to write inside a book, getting a "badge" to prove it etc), is a really fun way to incorporate some kid of art combined with writing that doesn't feel like writing. Because the writing parts are so short, he actually uses his best handwriting, which makes my momma heart very happy! Will buy another one of these for my other son next year!
My daughter thought this looked "weird" at first! She didn't want to write about slimy slugs?! After looking through it and reazling that she gets to "write her own book" she is now excited to do it! It is a hardback book so it is something we will keep on the book shelf! I like that it is something different than her usual choices such as princesses and unicorns. This will help her be creative and think differently!
