Experiments for Introductory Physics
Product Code: 025-404
This book contains the teacher's instructions for five lab experiments for Introductory Physics, included in Timberdoodle's eleventh-grade curriculum kit. Each experiment includes learning objectives, a materials list, a statement of the purpose of the experiment, an overview, pre-lab discussion points, the teacher's experiment protocols, any safety precautions, and a discussion of the use of any special apparatus. For some experiments calling for expensive equipment, alternative methods are suggested with less costly equipment.
Experiments for Introductory Physics also includes lab experiment instructions for another title by the same publisher, Accelerated Studies in Physics and Chemistry (ASPC). All of the five experiments for Introductory Physics also pertain to ASPC, and an additional sixth lab experiment is uniquely for ASPC.
High school lab experiments put students in the mode of the scientist and demonstrate how scientific investigation works. Such experiments are an opportunity to learn proper laboratory skills and methods for college and beyond. Lab experiments illustrate concepts learned in the classroom while introducing students to laboratory apparatus. They also enhance the course experience with an interesting tactile activity. These experiments have the power to reveal to students the importance of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail like few other activities in life can.
