Learning to safely use a pair of scissors seems to universally bring extraordinary joy to young children. In Kumon's two-book Let's Cut Paper series, your child will learn how to hold and control scissors and proceed from the simple one-stroke cuts of a dog's whiskers to the more complicated curved humps on a camel's back and the spiral of a chameleon's tail.
Many pages offer helpful tips for the parents, and all are sturdy enough to manage but not so thick as to be difficult to cut.
To complete Kumon’s two-book Let’s Cut Paper! series in an academic year, finish two to three pages a week.
”My youngest (age 4) has been dying to learn how to use scissors and I simply haven’t had the time or patience but these books made it all so much easier for both of us. It was nice for me to sit back and just watch without having to worry much or prepare anything in advance.”
