"Little Match was a winner in our kit! I have a 4 year old who loves this. Even my older kids joined in. Such a cute game, with well made thick cards. I recommend and will buy this as a gift for young kids. It's a keeper!"
A game that preschoolers can play is a rare find, and one that involves more than chance is rarer still. But Little Match meets both of these requirements and more. A card depicting a colorful kitten, owl, bunny, or butterfly is placed in the center of the table. Each young player searches their cards for a matching color or animal. If they have a match, they put it on top. No matches? They draw from the deck and play moves to the next person.
Little Match is easy for new participants to learn and is a favorite preschool game for our family. Not only does Little Match practice color-matching, attention, and sorting, but it also rehearses the vital skills of winning, losing, and taking turns. Little Match cultivates family interaction for ages 2.5 and older.
Setup: Shuffle the cards and deal 4 to each player. Turn over one card from the remaining cards and place it in the middle of the table.
Gameplay: Try to place one card from your hand next to the last card played; the card you play must be either the same color or show the same animal. If you cannot play a card, you must draw a card.
The first player to put all his cards in the line-up wins the game!

Review by Flanders Family Homelife:
”I love the fact that even a two-year-old can easily understand and play the game — and beat her older brothers, aunts, and uncles!”
”Little Match has lovely, soft illustrations that will be enjoyed by children and adults. The colors are muted but not pastel. The cards are made of thick, durable cardboard with a plastic-feeling coating that makes them wipeable in case of accidents and grubby hands.”
