STEM

STEM at Timberdoodle is something your child builds by hand, and every one of our curriculum kits, from Tiny Tots through 12th grade, includes a STEM project. Younger kits use building sets like Plus-Plus Excursion in 1st grade and the Fischertechnik sets that begin in kindergarten.

Later kits move toward how machines and computers work. Fischertechnik Advanced Universal 4, in our 2nd grade kit, builds up to 40 working models with gears and belt drives, Stopmotion Explosion 2.0 in 5th grade covers a whole film from script to sound, Turing Tumble in 6th shows how a computer makes decisions using marbles and gates, and Spintronics Act 1 in 8th turns electrical circuits into chains and switches you can watch move. In high school the projects get bigger, ending with game programming and a 4-cylinder engine build in 12th grade.
