We asked the families who used our 8th grade kit how long their students spent on "school." Most of the families worked on academics 4 or 5 days a week and spent 3-5 hours a day specifically on Timberdoodle materials. It is common for families to spend more or less time than that, so don't stress if your schedule doesn't exactly match up. And, of course, the time you spend will be greatly impacted by how in-depth your student takes their studies, their learning approach, how distractible they allow themselves to be, and much more.

We just received our Classic Elite Eighth Grade Kit and we are sooo impressed! My daughter immediately started her Friendly Science Course and she loves it! The quality of the games are amazing and so much fun! She has already started her logic puzzles and love them. We did customize it for the interests of my daughter but she is so excited to do school. She didn't want to wait until August to start. This is a game changer for our homeschool and has already brought so much life into our home!

My 8th grader has been begging me for years for a Timberdoodle kit. I kept hodgepodging curriculum for our own eclectic variety, but never ordered through Timberdoodle. Super happy with this curriculum. Starting from the packaging. My daughter loves the box so much (So do I) that she decided to leave her books in the box. So the box is our bookcase :) She is so happy with her curriculum! this is the first time we bought a curriculum that is a perfect match for ALL the subjects. The math is so very well explained that my daughter has finally expressed that she likes doing math!!! She finds the extra activities, like journaling, dot to dot, asteroid escape, etc fun and intriguing and they really give her a boost for learning. Love the curriculum kits!

We are new to homeschooling. We only took the leap a month ago (January 2021). Timberdoodle’s curriculum kits have been lifesavers and gave newbies like our family the ability to succeed. The scheduler has been a lifesaver! Purchasing the curriculum kits saved us so much time and anxiety because looking through all the different options out there was incredibly overwhelming. We love really all the subject sets and thinking games in both the 5th grade and 8th grade non-religious curriculum sets we purchased. The one thing we didn’t realize that since we have been in public school until now, the 7th/8th grade science my daughter was doing in 8th grade, was really the biology part for our district-they did the physical science in 7th. Really it doesn’t matter for us since we will purchase that part (or possibly the next curriculum set to work on over summer). The biggest thing we’ve learned over the last month is that our 3 kids have gaps in almost all areas. For example, we need to go back and revisit certain math and writing skills they should have mastered years ago. In public school they just keep moving on. I’m very grateful to have the tools and guidance from Timberdoodle to be able to fill in these gaps and make sure my kids are getting what they need to succeed and be happy, well-rounded kiddos.

After using a traditional school style boxed curriculum for 9 years we took the leap to Timberdoodle. Wow were we surprised at how very fun school can be. I need a better scheduler

I love that the kit can be customized, so that my 6th grader and 8th grader can do some of their subjects together! That is the best part of the custom option! However, the 8th grade guide that explains how to use the curriculum included in the kit only covered half of the items we ended up purchasing and I was left with zero guidance on how to schedule them. I would have like to have at least a loose leaf explanation page for the items we purchased. Also, UNCLE SAM AND ME is a curriculum designed for 5th to 8th grades, yet it was not even an option on the online scheduler, unless you add it in. Bottom line, if you are unorganized and doing multiply grades like me, the customized option has its obstacles.
