100 Things to Know About the Human Body

Our family really enjoyed reading 100 Things to Know About the Human Body. We especially love the illustrations on every page which makes learning about the body easier & more interesting. One section we especially enjoyed was "The best way to learn is to fall asleep", and "the four vital signs. The authors used some humor to keep us turning pages and wanting to learn more, but not so much that it is distracting. This book could be read aloud to a younger student -we read it aloud to our 6 year old daughter and our 10 year old enjoyed reading it two times thus far alone with no problem. It made science/biology more fun and we definitely recommend it.

Our Morning Basket Ice Breaker for Science!

These little entries are quick, colorful and full of fun facts. It's a short daily read if you just read one each day. We use it to just kind of gather everyone around and get ready for science. It's kind of like a "hook" to get the kiddos engaged for the day. There are some super silly and intriguing entries in this book. One thing I'll say for those who use Timberdoodle's religious kits - this book is secular and has some entries that are contrary to a Biblical view of the body and its creation. You may want to read this with your kiddo if that is a concern for you.
