A Reason for Handwriting: Pre-K Letter Introduction
If your prekindergartner is just starting to explore the alphabet, A Reason for Handwriting: Pre-K Letter Introduction is a gentle first step. The brightly illustrated workbook introduces both lowercase and uppercase manuscript letters through short, animal-themed lessons rooted in God's creation.
The book begins with 24 pages of tracing and cutting exercises to build the hand control your child needs before he starts forming letters. From there, 52 two-page lessons cover every letter of the alphabet in both cases—each with a practice page and a coloring page. Nine review lessons appear throughout the book, with four cumulative reviews at the end to wrap up the year.
From alligator to zebu, your child traces, writes, and colors his way through the alphabet. By the end of the year, he has practiced every letter in both uppercase and lowercase, built solid pre-writing skills, and—most importantly—discovered that handwriting can be enjoyable from the start.
For additional teaching support, animal facts, and nature tie-ins, pair this workbook with the Pre-K/Kindergarten Teacher Guidebook (available separately), designed specifically for the Pre-K and K levels.
