ABC Writing Lesson
Learning to form letters is a big milestone, and ABC Writing Lesson gives your child plenty of room to practice without feeling crowded or overwhelmed. Designed for preschool and pre-kindergarten learners, this workbook offers a gentle introduction to handwriting through large-letter models, spacious writing lines, and abundant tracing practice.
Each uppercase and lowercase letter is introduced through guided tracing activities that gradually build confidence and control. After practicing with trace lines, your child moves on to independent writing pages where he can apply what he has learned. Every row includes a model letter for reference, helping him develop proper letter formation from the beginning.
The large format and generously spaced lines are especially helpful for young learners who are still developing fine motor skills. Thick, durable pages withstand repeated practice and erase cleanly when used with erasable writing tools.
Once the alphabet has been mastered, the workbook continues with tracing and writing practice for numbers 1–9, providing additional opportunities to strengthen pencil control and handwriting readiness.
Simple, straightforward, and age-appropriate, ABC Writing Lesson helps your child build the confidence and coordination needed for future handwriting success.

Not My Favorite
S. B.
I do like this book in theory, but I'm not sure I would recommend it. 1 - The paper is a w f u l. It's like a plastic type paper and pencils do not work on it. We started with gel pens but those smeared so we found that basic crayola markers work best. 2 - The upper and lowercase letters are combined. They aren't like 2 pages of upper and 2 pages of lower, but they switch from upper to lower within the same page, and there are 4 pages of this (also not a favorite, I think it's too much for this age and my daughter got bored) for every letter. If you're planning to use this in conjunction with AAR Pre-Reading, it makes it very clunky to work with. It's an okay book, but with completely different paper and a different layout, it would be much better. Not something I plan to purchase again.

A Good Intro to Penmanship for Littles
Dorothy W.
Writing and penmanship are my son's least favorite subject. Not unusual for a boy of his age. But ABC Writing Lesson is probably as good as it's going to get at this age for introducing the concept of writing. The letters are appropriately sized and scale is not considered nearly as important as getting the basic shape of the number down. Each letter gets 4 pages worth of practice plus a tracing activity for an animal or object that begin with the letter you are working on. I like that there are different types of tracing for practice, some dotted lines, some block like letters that you need to stay in the middle of, etc. finished by practicing the letter itself with very little tracing. I've found it easier to go through the capital letters first in tandem with the Pre-Reading cirriculum and then going back and doing the lower case letters. There are also tracing pages for numbers as well which I appreciate as my son wants to start writing numbers and not just letters. A good cirriculum choice although I don't think I'll ever be able to give any cirriculum for writing 5 stars given how much my son detests it. But there really is nothing I can find that's any better, it's as good as it can get. I definitely approve.

Great practice

This is a great practice workbook for my toddler. They are 3 and this has been a very easy way to practice letters. Love how many pages there are per letter, as well.

Love this book
Aerie B.
We have tried other writing books similar to this and my kids never enjoy them because they are too much writing. This one is perfect for new writers. It has a variety of letters to trace and space to practice their own. It has upper and lower case practice as well as pictures to trace and color. My kids never get tired of this one.

Fun for kids
Aerie B.
My kids love this letter book. It’s not as long and exhausting to them as others we’ve tried. There are lower case and upper case letters for them to trace and also write themselves. As well as cute pictures to trace and color.

Engaging Lessons with a Suggestion for Improvement
Dee
We recently received the delivery of ABC Writing Lesson, and we're currently enjoying the writing lessons. However, one suggestion I have is for the publisher to separate the lower and uppercase letters.

Effective
Jennie S.
So far this has been a pretty decent book to learn how to draw your letters. My 4 year old has been using it but it doesn't hold his attention for very long so we do it a little bit at a time.
