By Level 7, spelling becomes about more than rules and patterns. All About Spelling Level 7 introduces your child to the history and structure of English itself, exploring the Latin roots, Greek word parts, and borrowed words that shape much of the language we use every day.

Built on the same multisensory, Orton-Gillingham-based approach as previous levels, Level 7 teaches one new concept at a time while continuing to reinforce mastery through review, dictation, and hands-on practice. Your child learns advanced suffix rules, studies the differences between endings such as ANCE and ENCE or IBLE and ABLE, and gains a deeper understanding of how word origins influence spelling.

Along the way, he'll work with Latin plurals, Greek-derived vocabulary, and words borrowed from languages such as French, Spanish, and Italian. Rather than memorizing advanced words one at a time, he learns to recognize meaningful word parts and apply patterns across entire groups of related words.

Letter tiles, dictation, spelling analysis, and review activities continue to reinforce each new concept. The carefully structured lessons help your child connect spelling, vocabulary, and word meaning while strengthening long-term retention.
