You'll need to provide AAA batteries, and while most standard brands work well, there's a small but important quirk to note.
Some customers have run into compatibility issues when using Energizer AAA batteries with the Block Circuit battery pack. We recommend using another brand for the most reliable results!
Due to a very slight difference in length, Energizers may not make solid contact inside the kit's battery compartment. The issue stems from a small plastic lip in the battery holder near the positive end. Many standard AAA batteries fit just fine—but that little design detail can make Energizers a not-so-great fit.
Our team has tested Kirkland Signature batteries with great success, and we've had very few complaints with other major brands either. So if your circuit doesn't spark joy right away, don't panic—just try a different battery brand. Then sit back and enjoy the lightbulb moment. Happy building!
