Start by building a recognizable train, then take it apart and see where imagination leads. How to Use Blockaroo Train Set
- Start with the train. Show your child how two Blockaroo pieces click together, then twist one while they are connected so he can see that the pieces rotate without coming apart.
- Build it together the first time. Let your preschooler choose and connect the pieces while you help him figure out what belongs where. There is no wrong magnetic side to fight, so success comes quickly.
- Hand over the pieces. Once he is comfortable, take the train apart. Can he rebuild it from memory? Make a longer train? Turn the wheels and other shapes into something completely different?
- Take it to the water. Build on the floor, then move Blockaroo into the bathtub or pool. The waterproof foam pieces float, adding a whole new dimension to building and experimenting.
- Mix in other sets. More shapes mean more possibilities — and eventually that train may bear very little resemblance to a train.
- Clean up easily. When the blocks get grimy, wash them in the dishwasher and they are ready for another round of preschool engineering.
